1. Who we are
tethub is a campus network that helps students discover people, listings, housing options, and events connected to their school. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the operators of tethub. References to “you” mean the person using the Service.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password and devices secure.
- One person should generally maintain one primary account. We may ask you to verify email, phone, campus affiliation, or identity where needed for safety or compliance.
- By creating an account — including via email, Google, or Apple — you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, or exploit other users.
- Post illegal, sexual involving minors, hateful, or violently extremist content.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the Service except as allowed by law.
- Bypass rate limits, security controls, or access other users’ data without permission.
- Use the Service for spam, malware, unauthorized advertising, or money-laundering schemes.
- List stolen goods, prohibited weapons, controlled substances, or other unlawful items.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts that breach these rules.
5. Marketplace, housing & peer transactions
- Listings and roommate/housing posts are created by users. Verify details yourself before paying deposits or meeting offline.
- Meet in public campus spaces when possible. Never send large payments to strangers based only on chat.
- Prices, availability, condition, and tenancy terms are between the parties involved.
- We may surface, rank, promote, or remove listings to improve safety and quality.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of content you post (profiles, posts, photos, listings, messages you send, and similar materials). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display that content as needed to operate, improve, promote, and secure the Service.
You confirm you have the rights to post that content and that it does not infringe others’ rights. You can delete much of your content from your account tools; residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
7. Payments & promotions
Some features (for example, advertising or promoted campaigns) may require payment through third-party processors. Those processors handle card and wallet data under their own terms and privacy notices. Fees, refunds, and taxes for paid features will be shown at checkout or in the relevant product terms.
8. Safety & reporting
Report suspicious listings, scams, or abusive behaviour via in-product reporting tools or support@tethub.co. We may investigate and take action we reasonably consider appropriate, but we do not guarantee outcomes or continuous monitoring of all user activity.
9. Intellectual property
The Service’s branding, software, design systems, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or redistribute them except as allowed by these Terms or with written permission.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, and accuracy of user-generated information. Campus coverage, listing quality, and message delivery may vary.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service or from deals between users. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for paid features in that period, or (b) USD 50 (or local equivalent). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
12. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through settings or support. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where changes are material, provide additional notice (for example in-app or by email). Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, except where local law requires explicit consent.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence require otherwise. Courts in Nigeria shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to those mandatory protections.
